As part of its committment to continual improvement, the USKF held the first of its Referees and Judges courses on Sunday in Corduff Sports Centre.

The course was open to all USKF black belts over the age of 18. Senseis Michael Sherlock, David Royle and Jennifer Madden explained the procedures for referees and judges, followed by flag practice.

A mock shiajo was then set up where participants focused on refereeing and judging kumite with the help of volunteers from Corduff and Hartstown SKCs.

This is the first of several Referees and Judges courses due to be held this year.
