Senseis Michael Sherlock, Raymond Stritch and Jennifer Madden recently participated in a four-hour course and workshop on ‘Code of Ethics/Child Protection in Sport’. The course, run by South Dublin County Sports partnership in conjunction with The Irish Sports Council, covered areas such as best practice, disclosure and child protection. The USKF participants (pictured here with their certificates) agreed the course was a very valuable one and also found the input of coaches from many different sports to be particularly interesting. The USKF is committed to Good Practice in karate and is developing a Code of Ethics for use in the organisation. The USKF will also be encouraging all its adult Instructors and Assistant Instructors to attend future courses.
