Senseis Michael Sherlock and David Royle, 5th Dan, instructed at the 3-hour Brown and Black belt course last Saturday in the Corduff Dojo. Approximately 40 Karateka participated in the course which had a fantastic atmoshere from start to finish.
Sensei Sherlock began the course with kihon punching combinations with particular emphasis on timing and correct hip rotation. Sensei Royle took the second part which concentrated on partner work with emphasis focusing on movement and timing.
After a short break the class was split into separate black and brown belt groups so that each group could concentrate on kata. The katas were broken down and individual movements were explained to aid students understanding of the movements.
The attidude displayed by students throughout the morning was fantastic and they showed their appreciation of the superb course by an impromtu round of applause at the end of the class.
