Senseis Sherry and Brennan November Course

The USKFI were delighted to welcome KUGB Chief Instructor Sensei Andy Sherry 8th Dan and Sensei Frank Brennan 7th Dan to instruct at its recent green - black belt course. The course, which preceded the USKFI's second Dan grading of the year, was very well attended by USKFI members. The class was divided into two groups with Sensei Sherry taking the Dan grades through their paces to begin with and Sensei Brennan instructing the lower grades. Both Senseis worked in detail on basics required for the gradings, paying attention to correct execution of techniques as well as power, targeting, and kime. The classes then worked on these techniques in an advanced manner through partner work. In the second part of the class, both Senseis swapped classes to work on kata. Lower grades worked through their grading katas while the Seniors studied more advanced katas with Sensei Brennan.

The excellent turnout, as well as the determined attitudes of USKFI members, made for an electric atmosphere throughout the course. The USKFI looks forward to welcoming Senseis Sherry and Brennan back early in the New Year.
